A PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT

The SEERAH Society HITEC-IMS organized an insightful event for the young doctors on Tuesday 13 th August 2024 in the college which highlighted the major purpose of creation of humans and duties of young doctors being righteous and caring based on teachings of Quran. The event was graced by the chief guest Col (R) Dr.Sarfraz Dogar, Director HITEWT Brig ®Imran Ahmed Malik SI (M), Worthy Principals of both the medical and dental colleges, Directors Admin medical & dental college. Audience comprised of the faculty members, House officers from both the colleges and students of third year MBBS and third year BDS. The program commenced with a welcome note by the president and general secretary of the Seerah society followed by the recitation from the holy Quran and Naat e Rasool (SAW). The Principal medical college Maj Gen(R) Dr. Hamid Shafiq HI (M) welcomed the Chief Guest by giving a brief account of his qualifications and services for the  community both as a health professional and a religious scholar. After this the chief guest, Dr.Sarfraz Dogar was requested to talk to the audience. The talk emphasized upon the broader purpose of life in Islam. The Speaker highlighted how dearly a person on right path, leading a conscientious and moral life is loved by Allah SWT. The speaker also clarified that wealth is a provision from Allah, and that true contentment lies in trusting His plan. The speaker stressed that our ultimate purpose is to worship Allah and to live in a way that aligns with Islamic principles. Simultaneously a calligraphy competition was arranged centered on the Qur’anic verse ; So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? & Participants showcased their artistic talents, presenting beautiful interpretations of the verse through traditional and modern calligraphy styles. The competition was judged by two calligraphy artists. Mohammed Amir (Iqbal House) from MBBS 1 st year won the 1 st prize, Afshan (Iqbal House) won the second and Shabih Zahra (Jinnah House) won the third prize .Shields were presented to the winners of the calligraphy competition by the chief guest followed by souvenir presentation to the Judges by both the Principals. Lastly Principal medical college presented a shield to the Chief Guest as a token of thanks.
The event was a successful blend of learning, reflection, and creativity.
