Anatomy has always been a cornerstone in medical education. Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy plays a vital role in a proper understanding of all branches of Medicine. The subject of Anatomy is one of the basic subjects of medical science which is taught in the first and second years of the MBBS program. The courses within the domain of Anatomy include General Anatomy, Histology or Microscopic Anatomy, Embryology or Developmental Anatomy, Regional or Gross Anatomy, and Neuroanatomy. The department offers a modern integrated teaching system for students. The teaching hours for different disciplines are in accordance with the recommendations of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council.
- To facilitate students in recognizing anatomical structures and appreciating the developmental processes for further application of this knowledge of anatomy to the cases that they will encounter during their clinical training.
