Physical education is an integral part of the education system. It helps attain education’s aim, i.e., achieving holistic development. Studying or working alone is exhaustive, reducing work efficiency. Thus, sports and physical activities remove mental exhaustion. Games and sports play a vital role in a student’s life. The students should not only study hard to be successful in competitive examinations, but they should also be actively involved in games and sports to enjoy the health and vigor of life.
A weeklong student’s sports week was organized by HITEC institute of Medical Sciences, extending from 28 March to the1st April. The event aimed to promote healthy physical activities and sports culture for medical and dental students. The program started with prayer, and the event was inaugurated by the Medical and Dental College principals, Maj Gen (R) Hamid Shafiq and Prof Dr. Irfan Shah. Various sports events were organized, including table tennis, basketball, cricket, and races. The MBBS, BDS, and Paramedics students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. Students could also set up various stalls during the event to show their culinary skills.
The students accomplished many positions in games like table tennis, Volleyball, relay race, and Naat and Qirat competition. The cricket matches between the faculty and students were also very entertaining for the students and the faculty as well.
The sports week activities were well organized and well planned—the Chairman HIT Maj. Gen Syed Aamer Raza, HI(M), was the guest of honor. The event concluded with prize distribution in the Musharraf Hall in the HITEC school.
Medals, Trophies, and certificates were awarded to the winners, followed by a lavish lunch arranged by the institute, which all the faculty members and students attended.
