Seerah Society

Introduction

The Seerah society is an addition to the existing societies at HITEC IMS this year. Our society is dedicated to study, promote and apply the teachings of our role model, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)in our daily lives. We aim to deepen the understanding of Quran and Sunnah, foster spiritual growth and guidance for individuals with in the university and beyond. We are here to organize events, lectures and educational programs focused on Quran & Sunnah.

Motto

The motto “Blessing Souls through the SEERAH” captures the essence of a SEERAH Society’s mission. It highlights the transformative power of studying and embodying the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in enriching and blessing the souls of individuals within the society and the broader community.

Objectives

  • Education and Awareness: To educate students about the life, teachings, and character of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in an accurate and authentic manner.
  • Promotion of Islamic Values: To promote the core values of Islam as exemplified by the Prophet, such as compassion, justice, integrity, among students.
  • Cultural and Interfaith Understanding: To foster a deeper understanding of the cultural and historical context of the Prophet’s life, and to encourage interfaith dialogue and understanding among students.
  • Personal Development: To inspire personal growth and development by drawing lessons from the Prophet’s life and applying them to contemporary challenges and situations.
  • Community Service: To engage in community service projects inspired by the Prophet’s emphasis on charity, social justice, and compassion towards all people, regardless of their backgrounds
  • Promotion of Unity and Brotherhood/Sisterhood: To promote unity, solidarity, and brotherhood/sisterhood among students, irrespective of their cultural or ethnic backgrounds, through the shared study and appreciation of the SEERAH
  • Leadership Development: To nurture leadership qualities among students by encouraging them to take on responsibilities within the society, organizing events, and participating in activities aimed at promoting the objectives of the society.
  • Cultural Events and Celebrations: To organize events, seminars, workshops, and celebrations that commemorate significant events from the life of the Prophet, fostering a sense of belonging and community among students.
  • Integration with Academic Curriculum: To collaborate with academic departments to integrate the study of the SEERAH into relevant courses and curricula, enhancing students’ understanding of Islamic history and civilization
