Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with 2.3 million new cases diagnosed each year, and a rising burden in Asia — where in Pakistan, approximately 1 in 9 women is at risk of developing breast cancer in her lifetime.

October is globally observed as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, It serves as a reminder that awareness saves lives. Encouraging regular screening and empowering women to take charge of their health plays vital role in mortality and morbidity reduction.

HITEC-IMS in collaboration with PMO & NESCOM is organizing Breast Cancer Awareness Session on 21st October 2025 at 10:00 AM in the HITE Auditorium. Let’s unite under the Pink Ribbon to promote early detection, prevention, and awareness of breast cancer. The session will feature expert talks, a demonstration on Breast Self-Examination (BSE), myth-busting discussions, and an interactive Q&A. Pink Ribbons and educational materials will be distributed to participants. A free screening camp by the Department of Surgery, HIT Hospital, will also be held from 22nd to 30th October 2025, offering clinical breast examinations by competent surgeons.
