To mark orld Hepatitis Day 2026, HITEC Instite of Medical Seiences organized an awareness symposium on 28th July 2026 at the HITEC Auditorium. The event was attended by undergraduate students, faculty, and employees from HIT Factories. The symposium featured Maj. Gen. Prof. Dr. Ejaz Ghani HI (M) Retd.), who spoke on Pakistan’s commitment to eliminating viral hepatitis by 2030. Prof. Dr. Aashi Ahmed, Head of Community Medicine, discussed the lobal and national burden, ransmission, prevention, and the curent hepatitis situation in Pakistan. Maj. Gen, Prof, Dr, Farrukh Saced HI M) (Retd,) highlighted reeent advances in the diagnosis and treatment of Hepatitis C.

The event concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, reinforcing awarenes about hepatitis prevention, carly diagnosis, and treatment. The symposium reflected HITEC-IMS’s continued commitment to promoting public health awarenessand supporting Pakistan’s hepatitis elimination efforts.
