Pulmonology

Introduction

The Department of Pulmonology offers both in-patient and outpatient respiratory care for patients including tertiary pulmonary care for a large catchment area. The Department manages daily general outpatient clinics; focused on the management of chronic lung diseases such as asthma, COPD, interstitial lung diseases in addition to sleep medicine, pulmonary tuberculosis and drugresistant tuberculosis. The Department provides round the clock services to patients being referred from other referral centers. The procedures routinely performed in this department include Spirometries, Percutaneous biopsies, Pleural aspirations, Pleural biopsies, Tube Thoracotomies, Pleurodesis, Bronchoscopies, and Non-invasive ventilation.
