Workshop on Effective Presentation Skills

  • November 20, 2025 - 9:30am

If you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough – Albert Einstein

Giving an oral presentation is essential to demonstrte our work, knowledge base, and expertise. Giving an effective presentation can help us in obtaining recognition and acknowledgement of our skills.

However, many presenters lack the skills to deliver a dynamic and persuasive lecture. Inadequate speaking skills can be detrimental in delivering an important message, or worse yet, bore  the audience.

Benefits of improving presentation skills

  • Enhanced communication: clearer and more impactful message delivery.
  • Increased confidence:  greater self-assurance during public speaking.
  • Career advancement: better job prospects and professional growth.
  • Stronger engagement: improved ability to captivate and maintain audience interest.
  • Influence and persuasion: more effective in convincing and motivating others.

Effective lectures often incorporate activities that encourage learner participation. A challenge for educators is how to facilitate this in the large group lecture setting. In order to be able to present successfully, not only the layout and the content of the presentation must be convincing. The decisive step is to convey the content of the presentation to the audience in the best possible way by presenting it correctly.
