Physical education is an integral part of the education system. It helps attain the aim of education, i.e., achieving holistic development. Games and sports play a vital role in a student’s life. The students should not only study hard to succeed in competitive examinations but also be actively involved in games and sports to enjoy the health and vigor of life. Studying or working alone is exhaustive, reducing the efficiency of doing work. Thus, sports and physical activities remove mental exhaustion.
HITEC Institute of Medical Sciences organized a one-week student sports week from the 13th to the 17th of March. The event aimed to promote healthy physical activities and sports culture for medical and dental students. The program started with prayer, and the event was inaugurated by Medical and Dental College principals, Maj Gen (R) Hammid Shafiq and Prof Dr. Irfan Shah. Various sports events were organized, including table tennis, basketball, cricket, and races. The MBBS, BDS, and Paramedics students participated vigorously and enthusiastically. Students were also allowed to set up various stalls to show their culinary skills during the event.
The BDS students accomplished many positions in games like table tennis, Volleyball, relay race, and Naat and Qirat competition. The cricket matches between the faculty and students were also very entertaining for the students and the faculty.
The sports week activity was highly organized and well planned. The Chairman HIT Lt Gen Syed Aamer Raza, HI(M), was the guest of honor. The event concluded with prize distribution in the Musharraf Hall in the HITEC school.
Medals, Trophies, and certificates were awarded to the winners, followed by a lavish lunch arranged by the institute, which all the faculty members and students attended.
