Orthopedics

Introduction

The department of orthopedic has been providing quality services over the last six years and catering not only for the population of HIT but also for the local population of Taxila. This confidence of the masses is reflected by the ever increasing workload of the department in the form of OPD clinic visits, bed occupancy and the increasing waiting time for elective surgeries. The number of trauma reporting to the emergency department and clinic is a good indicator of the quality of orthopedic trauma care being delivered.

The department, under the leadership of Prof. Dr Kashif Khurshid Qureshi, is performing Hip and Knee joint replacement surgeries, shoulder Hemiarthroplasty, anatomical implants, knee arthroscopy, ACL reconstruction, MIPO and high quality trauma surgery. The versatile department also holds regular workshops for students and staff to train them on the principles of plaster technique.
