Plastic Surgery

Introduction

Plastic surgery is a surgical specialty involving the restoration, reconstruction or alteration of the human body. It has many branches: Reconstructive surgery, Hand surgery, craniofacial surgery (Cleft lip and palate), Microsurgery (Nerve and Microvascular surgery), Burn surgery (Acute & Chronic) and Cosmetic surgery. Reconstructive surgery aims to reconstruct a part of the body or improve its functioning, whereas Cosmetic (or aesthetic) surgery aims at improving the appearance of it.

The department of Plastic Surgery was set up in July 2018 in HITEC-IMS, Taxila, under the surgical and allied department. Dr Farhan Ahmed Eitezaz started its development and is now treating patients suffering from a wide spectrum of Plastic surgical problems including free tissue transfer.
